Trip to the Desert: Day 2

After a minor-league filled day on Saturday, today’s game we went to was a major league bout between the Oakland A’s and Texas Rangers. The starting pitchers were Oakland’s top prospect Gio Gonzalez, and for the Rangers, Sidney Ponson.
Oakland put some-what of a B-Squad on the diamond, facing Texas’ A-Lineup.

Jeff Baisley wins tight game for Oakland

2005 Vancouver Canadians third base standout, Jeff ‘Buttah’ Baisley, is doing more than signing autographs in major league spring training.
He’s hitting .667 at the moment (granted, we’re talking small sample size), and today he knocked in the tying and winning runs in a pinch-hit appearance to get the Athletics home in a 2-1 squeaker [...]
