Vancouver Canadians Saturday home opener sold out

Baseball fans in the lower mainland come in two varieties – those who bought their tickets early for tonight’s home opener at Nat Bailey Stadium, and those who won’t be allowed in.
The Vancouver Canadians Baseball Club have announces that tonight’s June 20th season opener vs. the Everett Aquasox is sold out.

Roger Clemens to be indicted? What now, Jason Whitlock?

If you watched the Roger Clemens steroid hearings that came out of the US Congress last week, three things should have jumped right out at you.
1) Congressional Chair Henry Waxman looks like a Hanna Barbera cartoon.

UBC Thunderbirds baseball coach Terry McKaig often sends out notes to the media outlining results, highlights, notable players, etc, throughout the season, and generally they’re interesting reads. The most recent note, however, was somewhat… well… light on details:
Lost 17-3 to St. Martins.  No real highlights to speak of
obviously.

C’s fans that came out to The Nat in season ‘04 will remember fondly the name of Mike McGirr [seen left], who lit up the Northwest League with a season that ended with a 5-0, 0.66 record after 7 starts.
