I faced Murphy a couple times back in Section II ball as I am his age and went to Bethlehem. Great pitcher with great location. Glad to see that a great organization such as the A's realize that it's not all about the gun. In high school he seemed to be a guy that knew how to pitch and threw hard enough to get people out with awesome movement and location (low 80s maybe?) but definitely was long and could put on some strength. I'm guessing he's gained a lot of strength and is now throwing 90 and still painting corners with great movement and a dirty change. Great to see the section II love even if he did go to Shen!

Kid is a scrub. I spent countless years of my life dominating him at Golden Eye, Halo, and the Strike-out Game.

I had Murphy in class (HS) and his older brother (Trevor) on my team...both boys (young men now) are stellar athletes (as is the youngest "kid" Morgan) and wonderful human beings. I expect to see great things from Murph and will follow his career back here in NY. Good luck Murphy!

What I was referring to was that he won 22% of his teams games in the last two years, that's really good.

They didn't make the NCAA World Series, and congrats they finished 3rd at a Regional, most college teams don't do that do they (*rolls eyes*)

All I care about is he's a good baseball player, enough said...I don't care how good or not good Binghamton did.

"For a 13th round pick, he is just the second-highest draft choice in school history, and I’d be shocked if he doesn’t sign seeing as how his team won’t advance to the NCAA World Series next year, because they’re not a big name school."

- Really? You do know this team has made the conference championship game for three straight seasons, right? They return many players from this year's team that not only made the NCAA Tourney, but WON a game over George Mason...yanno, the team that had the highest winning percentage in the country?

"I don’t know how hard he throws, but if you go 13-7 on a team that only won 59 games in two years, you have to be a good pitcher."

Because winning 30 games a season is not good or anything in a 50 game season?
