I’ll start off first, by saying sorry for the lack of posting.  My email crashed on me a few weeks ago, when I had numerous posts for Nat Notes and Scout.com (sorry Melissa!), vanish.  Sometimes it might be worth it to not have a free email account.

A month ago, a new baseball team in British Columbia, the Victoria Seals, who will play in the Golden Baseball League, an independent league, that features such ex-Canadians such as 2006 C Eric Sheridan, and Jose Canseco played in this league a few years back.

The Seals will open play in 2009, playing at Royal Athletic Park.  Their owners, Russ and Darren Parker, are the former owners of the AAA Calgary Cannons.

They don’t have anything on their website, with any information besides ticket info, and a newsletter sign-up.

Onto MLB news, the Philadelphia Phillies clinched the World Series title just minutes ago.  Ex-Canadian Joe Blanton, had a major part in the Series victory, after pitching exceptionally in Game 4.  Blanton pitched 6 strong innings, and hit his first career Homerun, as well.

Blanton was very good for the Phillies since being acquired in a trade back in July, and the 27-year-old went against ex-teammate Rich Harden, on August 29th when he silenced the Wrigley faithful.

He was an immediate hit with the Phillie faithful.

The Canadians are set to announce their 2009 NWL schedule in the coming days, once it becomes available to them.

Look for more interviews, in the coming days/weeks, and more C’s and MLB info as it becomes available…
