No, the playoffs haven’t started early this season; MiLB.com, the minor league baseball website, is running a competition called Moniker Madness, in which the oddest names of minor league baseball are paired off against each other in a tournament system ‘fight to the death’.
Dusty Napoleon, one of Vancouver’s three catchers from last season, has managed to get to the quarter finals by beating Judd Songster in the first round, Woods Fines in the second, and the unfortunately named Smelin Perez in the third.
At the time of writing, he’s ahead of Given Kutz in the quarter final bracket by 59% to 41% with 743 votes cast, and potential favourites like Henry Henry, Noochie Varner, Al Albuquerque, Gonzalo Gonzalez, Rocky Cherry, and Ray Liotta are long gone - so let’s make sure The American Dream goes to the final four by voting here.
