Valentines_Cupid1.JPGWhen the Canadians announced plans for a ‘Cupid Pack’ a few weeks ago, guys (and girls) decided to forget the traditional flowers and chocolate.  Instead, they chose the Canadians flexpack, with the addition of a rose.  The best part?  Three members of the Canadians front office staff delivered the two gifts personally to the recipient on Valentine’s Day.

Yeah, it must’ve been strange to see Andrew Seymour, Jason Takefman and Rob Fai giving roses to a bunch of men on Valentine’s Day but judging from the photos and news release, it was hit.

(Nat
Bailey Stadium - Vancouver, BC) - The Vancouver Canadians Baseball Club
was up early this Valentine’s Day preparing for the delivery of a
number of "Cupid Packs".  Fans of the Canadians had the chance to
pre-order a Flex Pack which is 10-undated tickets for any regular
season C’s home game at Nat Bailey Stadium.  What made this particular
order timely was the ticket packages were hand delivered along with a
beautiful freshly-cut long stemmed red rose - all for just $99.

Canadaians
General Manager Andrew Seymour, Director of Ticketing Jason Takefman
and C’s Broadcaster Rob Fai spent the day driving around surprizing one
person after another.  Some of our recipients were surprised at home,
others right in the middle of their work day - but all were thrilled to
receive the gift of baseball and know that it came from a person that
was thinking of them this Valentine’s Day.

Happy
Valentine’s Day to all of our "Cupid Pack" recipients.  The C’s have
posted just a few of our pictures as we tried to capture the happiness
these lucky people felt when we surprised them with the gift of
baseball.

Today in the Sun, Greg Douglas wrote a small piece about the "Cupid Pack", and also how Rob Fai’s new cologne wasn’t as effective as he thought it would be.

Seymour, media relations man Rob Fai and ticket manager Jason Takesman
made the rounds to private homes and downtown business offices Thursday
wearing red C’s hats and jerseys and carrying long stem red roses as
they delivered "Cupid Pack" 10-game ticket gifts to unsuspecting
recipients. "I had my hair cut and was wearing a new cologne expecting
to be delivering the roses and tickets to wives and girlfriends," Fai
says. "Most of our calls were to guys, with love messages from their
significant others."

Side note:  Seymour’s former club the Fort Myers Miracle did a similar promotion.
